Tehran, February 15, 2026 — Iran has indicated it may be willing to compromise on aspects of its nuclear program in pursuit of a new agreement with the United States, provided that economic sanctions are meaningfully addressed. Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said today that Tehran is prepared to show flexibility, but stressed that Washington must demonstrate equal seriousness in negotiations.

Takht-Ravanchi noted that preliminary discussions in Oman had moved in a generally positive direction, though he cautioned it was too early to predict an outcome. A second round of high-level talks is scheduled for Tuesday in Geneva. Among possible concessions, he mentioned the dilution of Iran’s stock of uranium enriched to 60 percent purity. However, he underscored that a complete halt to domestic enrichment remains a red line, citing Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear technology.

The Deputy Foreign Minister also emphasized that while Iran seeks a deal focused on the nuclear file, it will not negotiate on its defensive missile capabilities. He voiced concern over recent increases in foreign military presence in the region, warning that such escalations could destabilize all parties involved. Despite these tensions, he said Iran will approach the Geneva meetings with cautious optimism for progress.
