Mumbai, Nov 4, 2025: In the wake of escalating internal rifts, the ruling alliance in Maharashtra has begun hurried efforts to project unity ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Leaders from all three constituent parties—Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction),BJP, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP—met late Monday night to finalize a seat-sharing formula and develop a joint campaign calendar.
Sources said the meeting at Varsha, the Chief Minister’s residence, was marked by sharp exchanges between local leaders over ticket distribution and campaign control. Senior BJP strategists reportedly urged the allies to “focus on defeating the opposition, not each other.”
A senior functionary of the alliance admitted privately that “district-level clashes and communication gaps have created confusion among party workers,” but insisted that a new coordination committee will smoothen the process.
Meanwhile, the opposition MVA (Uddhav Thackeray faction, Congress, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP) mocked the ruling bloc’s disarray, claiming it reflected “fear of a voter backlash over unfulfilled promises.”
Political analysts in Mumbai believe the alliance’s survival will depend on how well the partners can balance local ambitions with statewide messaging in the months ahead.
