Washington , January 16, 2026: Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado on Thursday presented her Nobel Peace Prize medal to United States President Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House, describing the gesture as a personal expression of gratitude and recognition for his role in what she termed the struggle for a free Venezuela.
According to statements released after the meeting, Machado said the medal was offered as a symbolic acknowledgment of Trump’s support for democratic forces in Venezuela and his actions against the Nicolás Maduro government.
