February 9, 2026, NEW DELHI — The Delhi Police have initiated a formal investigation by registering a First Information Report concerning the unauthorized online distribution of an unreleased book authored by former Chief of Army Staff General M.M. Naravane. The action follows reports that a digital version of the memoir, titled Four Stars of Destiny, has been circulating across various social media platforms and messaging applications despite the work not yet receiving mandatory clearance for public release.

Official sources confirmed on Monday that the Special Cell has taken up the case to identify the source of the breach. Initial inquiries revealed that a typeset PDF copy of the manuscript, which appears to have been prepared by the designated publishing house, has surfaced on several websites. Furthermore, certain e-commerce platforms were found to be displaying the book’s final cover art, potentially misleading the public into believing the title was available for purchase.

The manuscript has been under review by the Ministry of Defence for a significant period to ensure compliance with national security guidelines and the Official Secrets Act. The legal move by authorities comes shortly after the unreleased text became a point of contention in recent legislative proceedings. Investigators are currently tracing digital footprints to determine how the protected document entered the public domain and whether the leak originated from the publishing process or an external cyber intervention.
